Woodwork and Greenery Abound at This Upstate Stone House by BNO Design
This beautiful home located in Yorktown Heights in Westchester County, New York, is situated on acres of sprawling greenery. The immaculate interior was created by BNO Design and boasts a myriad of truly unique architectural details. From the intricate wood staircase, complete with ornate storage compartments, to upholstered linen walls and impressively large windows, this home is chock full of taste and elegance.
Included in this grand design is the perfect pairing of wall and floor accessories with gorgeous furniture and lighting. The first-floor living room and den feature traditional paintings and hardwood floors throughout, along with decadent Oriental rugs and seating from a variety of time periods.
Both of the home’s staircases boast rich warm hardwood finishes, reminiscent of a craftsman style design. The larger of the two also includes clever storage underneath and an intricately designed banister and railing.
The exterior wall of the kitchen and dining room is lined with french doors opening up to the home’s quaint patio and lush lawn.
Being surrounded by acres of land gives the owners ample privacy, and thus they decided not to have any drapery in this bedroom. Instead the designer installed linen-covered wall panels to add warmth without sacrificing views.
The room pictured above does have drapes, however they are extremely sheer and still let in ample light. Adorable cat sculptures playfully flank the queen sized bed, and a white dresser with red graphic detailing adds a modern and youthful feel.
The bathrooms’ designs create a tranquil and luxurious mood perfect for relaxing.
The home is enveloped in dense greenery, carefully manicured landscaping and playful sculptures.
The traditional design of this home’s interior comes alive with pockets of contemporary details, and is as grad as the land surrounding it. See more work from BNO Design on their website.
