Turn Hot Coffee to Iced in Minutes With the Coil
New Yorkers love to drink coffee, and while most can manage the time and effort required to brew a pot, getting the bubbling liquid cold is another story. Many of us are willing to spend upwards to four or even six dollars if someone can ice it for us. Well, fellow coffee addicts, thanks to the Coil, a chiller that drops the temperature of coffee within minutes, your days of over-priced joe have come to an end.
How does this crazy coffee chilling machine work? Well this four piece ceramic contraption features a central container with a nine-foot coil of quarter-inch copper tubing, as well as a bottom container with spout and lid. The ice is placed inside the ‘Coil’ to surround the copper tubing, thus making it cold. Then you pour your coffee from the top, inside of the tube, and by the time it reaches the spout it’s freezing! The whole process takes about four minutes dropping temps from 210 to 48 degrees, which is also much faster than the line at Starbucks.
