Living Cube: An All-in-One Storage Solution with a Bed and Hidden Room
Attention apartment dwellers! If you’re looking for a practical and elegant way to store all of your belongings, and to stealthily add additional sleeping quarters to your home, look no further than the Living Cube. Envisioned by German designer Till Konneker, this multifunctional design comes complete with a top platform for chilling out or fitting an extra bed, as well as a hidden storage room inside.
The Living Cube combines eight to twelve different pieces of furniture into one and maintains a very small footprint. A big idea in a small design, the cube features plenty of shelving, a closet for your clothes, a shoe rack underneath, and drawers for keeping small bits and bobs out of sight. But the most surprising feature is its hidden room. With access provided by a side door, this closet is large enough to fit a bike inside.
The cube is described by Konneker as a self-standing “new room” that will suit both an open plan home or one with a limited space. He adds, “I wanted to focus on practicality and functionality and skip any unnecessary elements. My goal was to come up with a timeless design that fits any space and living situation.”
The Living Cube comes in three standard production models (Mini Cube, Urban Cube and Living Wall) and can be custom-built to order.
