Brooklinen’s new towel collection brings NYC icons to the beach

Though it might not be quite time to hit the beach, we’re counting the days. Luxury bed linen disruptor Brooklinen has offered us a ray of sunshine in the form of a new collaboration with a nod to everyone’s favorite New York City icons. Inspired by their Brooklyn roots, the company is collaborating with six New York City artists on a collection of limited-edition, summer-themed beach towel prints. The first three in the series, available starting March 3, include NYC Summer, High Tide, and Island Life. The first of these is indeed a snapshot of summer in the city.
As it turns out, a beach towel makes a perfect canvas for art and design, and the exclusive electric green NYC Summer print takes full advantage.
Designed by Kath Nash in Brooklyn as a “love letter to the city,” the print is a whimsical tribute to images New Yorkers and tourists alike can recognize: Hot dogs, pizza and pretzels share the soft, absorbent space with the Statue of Liberty–and a pigeon.
The artist, Kath Nash, says of the fabulous and funny design, “The feeling of being in New York City on a perfect summer day is inimitable–it’s a wonderful mix of spontaneity, delicious food, and lots of sweat. I tried to evoke that feeling in this piece.”
The other available beach towels–High Tide by Josh Cochran and Island Life by Cheryl Thuesday–are also an interpretation of–and spot-on accessory for–the ideal summer lifestyle.
According to Brooklinen, the limited-edition towels have a soft velour front, an absorbent terry back, and can be had for $75 each.
