Build Your Own Urban Utopia with Ittyblox’s Ultra-Detailed Miniature City Blocks
Modernists and preservationists can now plan the city of their dreams without a war of words from their opposing side. Called Ittyblox, this 3D-printed modular collection features tiny structures, ranging from Tudors to modern towers, that can be arranged—and re-arranged—to make a diorama of dynamic city blocks.
The 1:1000 scale buildings are inspired by global cities like London and Chicago, and most notably New York where miniatures of everything from the Guggenheim to brick townhouses can be found in the pile. Other pieces are far more innocuous, making it easy to fill in the gaps of your baseplate, which does require some degree of Tetris-ing.
Models are also printed in such a way that they can be lit up from beneath with LEDs.
The miniature blocks start at $6 and sets are available for $93. The baseplate is selling for $20. In love? Buy them at Shapeways here!
