Lottery opens for 47 affordable apartments at West 42nd Street complex overlooking the Hudson River

New Yorkers earning 130 percent of the area median income can apply for 47 middle-income apartments at the Midtown West rental complex River Place. Located at 650 West 42nd Street, the massive 900+ unit development has amazing amenities like a 75-foot indoor swimming pool, two outdoor tennis courts, a basketball court, and a sundeck overlooking the Hudson River. Available apartments include $1,130/month studios, $1,634/one-bedrooms, and $2,467/month two-bedrooms.
River place was built in 2001 by Silverstein Properties. The 41-story, multi-faceted tower was designed by Costas Kondylis.
The full suite of amenities includes a glass-enclosed Olympic-sized swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center with a yoga room, two tennis courts, a basketball court, private waterfront event space, a sundeck, children’s playroom and outdoor playground, and a dog run. In addition, there is on-site valet parking and a daily shuttle service to central Midtown. It’s located on the westernmost end of 42nd Street, convenient to Hudson River Park and the crosstown bus.
The rent-stabilized building is currently offering one month free and is waiving the amenity and pet fees for the initial lease term. Rent includes gas for cooking, heat, and water (tenants are responsible for electric).
