Popular outdoor food market Smorgasburg returns to Williamsburg next week with a new takeout-only model. As Eater New York first reported, “Smorg To Go” will launch on Monday, July 20, with 10 vendors serving fare at 51 North 6th Street at Kent Avenue, a block from the market’s typical summer location at Marsha P. Johnson State Park. The new takeout market will operate seven days per week with a rotating list of vendors.
Co-founder Eric Demby told Eater that there will be no outdoor dining available at the new site to prevent overcrowding, but he is encouraging foodies to walk to the waterfront park across the street for “socially-distanced picnics.”
Starting Monday, orders will be accepted at smorgtogo.com (the site launches on July 20) from the 10 participating vendors, which will change every week. Online orders can then be picked up from 51 North 6th Street.
