Fans of the Amazon series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” will soon be able to tour famed New York City locations featured in the show. Starting Dec. 16, On Locations Tours, which runs television and movie-themed tours in NYC and Boston, is offering a bus tour that stops at filming locations of the popular show, coinciding with the release of its third season this week. As first reported by the Wall Street Journal, the tours will be held three times a week and cost $52.
“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” which has won more than a dozen Emmy Awards, follows 1950s housewife Miriam “Midge” Maisel on her way to becoming a stand-up comic in New York.
The bus tour takes fans to spots seen in the show, including the B. Altman & Co. department store on Fifth Avenue (now home to the Graduate Center), the Music Inn (where Midge buys a “dirty” comedy record), Washington Square Park (where she participates in a rally led by Jane Jacobs), and McSorley’s Old Ale House, which in reality didn’t allow women in until 1970.
Georgette Blau, the founder of On Location Tours, told the WSJ that the “huge success” of the show made it an easy decision to add to her tour line-up, which also includes “The Sopranos,” “Sex & the City,” and “Gossip Girl” bus tours.
The tour runs about 2.5 hours and is offered on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at noon. Get more details and tickets here.
