At the nexus of Crown Heights and Bed-Stuy, a new rental in Clinton Hill launched an affordable housing lottery this week for 55 middle-income units. Located across the street from the Franklin Avenue C, S subway station at 1134 Fulton Street, the building offers residents a gym, on-site laundry, parking, and rooftop access. Qualifying New Yorkers earning 80 and 130 percent of the area median income can apply for the units, ranging from $1,097/month studios to $2,400/month three-bedrooms.
The building rises 11 stories and contains nearly 200 apartments. Brownstoner reported in August that local gourmet grocery store Lincoln Market and Blink Fitness will be located on the ground level.
It sits in a bustling part of the neighborhood, with access to the local trains just steps away, the express A train about two blocks east, and a handful of buses. The rental is also near plenty of restaurants and cafes, including Hart’s, Doris, Glorietta Baldy, and Daily Press Coffee, as well as the many offerings of neighboring Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, and Bed-Stuy.
Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the apartments at 1134 Fulton Street until February 5, 2020. Residents of Brooklyn Community Board 3 will be given preference for 50 percent of the units. Complete details on how to apply are available here (pdf). Questions regarding this offer must be referred to NYC’s Housing Connect department by dialing 311.
