Michelin-starred Chef Gabriel Kreuther to run two restaurants at Hudson Yards’ Spiral tower

A starchitect-designed office tower in Hudson Yards will offer cuisine curated by a Michelin-starred chef. The Spiral, the 66-story building designed by Bjarke Ingels, will be home to two new dining concepts created by Gabriel Kreuther, known for his eponymous restaurant near Bryant Park, developer Tishman Speyer announced Wednesday. Kreuther will operate a full-service restaurant and an all-day cafe serving breakfast and lunch; both are expected to open next year.
Working alongside business partner Eben Dorros, Kreuther will manage both the 5,700-square-foot full-service restaurant and the all-day cafe which will also serve small plates with wine and specialty cocktails at night. The two street-level restaurants will overlook the scenic, four-acre Bella Abzug Park.
“We are thrilled to partner with Tishman Speyer on these two new concepts at The Spiral,” Kreuther said.
“We plan to create these separate dining experiences that reflect the tastes of the neighborhood and community, both places to enjoy on any occasion. Our team is excited to bring our singular approach and commitment to high-quality ingredients and techniques to West Midtown.”
In addition to Kreuther’s two new restaurants, the owners of acclaimed NYC restaurants Llama San and Llama Inn will be opening a Peruvian-Japanese restaurant on the tower’s 10th Avenue side.
Throughout his career, Kreuther has worked at world-renowned NYC establishments, including La Caravelle and at the Restaurant Jean-Goerges in Central Park. In 2015, Kreuther opened his eponymous restaurant, Gabriel Kreuther, in Midtown. Since its opening, the restaurant has received numerous accolades, including Best New Restaurant of the Year by the Village Voice.
Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, The Spiral, located at 66 Hudson Boulevard, topped out at 1,031 feet in January 2021. The building’s design features cascading levels of landscaped terraces and hanging gardens that create a continuous green pathway wrapping around its facade, giving the structure its distinct spiral.
The Spiral stretches a full block between West 34th and 35th Streets and contains 2.8 million square feet of office space and ground-floor retail.

Commercial tenants of the Spiral include accounting firm Baker Tilly, Swedish bank Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB, Pfizer, AllianceBernstein, and HSBC, according to Commercial Observer.
