Since launching in 2015, the Queens Night Market has become a favorite in the food market scene for its international offerings. But for those who can’t make it out to Flushing Meadows, the Market will be opening a new daytime outpost at Rockefeller Center starting July 29th. Founder John Wang said The OUTPOST by Queens Night Market is “a chance to test out the area’s appetite for unique global offerings, and also a chance
for some of our dedicated vendors to profit from all the passion and hard work they bring to the Queens Night Market.”

In its five seasons, the Queens Night Market has helped nearly 300 new businesses get their start in NYC, representing 90 countries through its vendors and their offerings. Unlike the Night Market’s $5 price cap on food, the Rock Center location will not have a limit. However, the meal-sized portions are still intended to be affordable. So far, the confirmed vendors at OUTPOST are:

  • Burmese Bites – Burmese keema palatas and Ohno kaukswe
  • Em – Vietnamese thịt Kho and chả giò
  • La’Maoli – Antiguan saltfish balls and island subs
  • Joey Bats Café – Portuguese pastéis de Nata
  • Brooklyn Dumpling – Polish pierogis and kopytka
  • Treat Yourself Jerk Chicken – Jamaican jerk chicken
  • Hong Kong Street Food – Hong Kongese soy sauce noodles
  • Primos Variedades – Mexican fresh-carved al pastor tacos
  • Lion City Coffee – Singaporean Chai tow kway and kaya toast

The OUTPOST will be located at the South Plaza at Rockefeller Center (between 48th and 49th Streets and 5th and 6th Avenues) and open from Monday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will start with a three-week trial, but if the 12,000 visitors/night at the Night Market are any indication, OUTPOST will be here to stay.
