The 1 isn’t running uptown, expect heavy delays on 5 trains, and more weekend service updates

The weather forecast is looking good this weekend, but underground things aren’t as bright. The usual roster of subway service changes will hit the tracks, and while some straphangers are lucky enough to avoid planned work on their lines—the C, F, and G are in the clear—others are not so fortunate. The 1 isn’t running uptown, the 5 will only be running every 20 minutes, and there are scores of skipped stops and reduced service across the board.

The 1 won’t be running between 137 Street and 242 Street, take an A or C train, M3, M100, or free shuttle bus instead.

2, 3, and 4 trains will skip Eastern Pkwy in both directions from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturday. On Saturday and Sunday from 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m.Wakefield-bound 2 trains will skip Bronx Park East, Pelham Pkwy, Allerton Avenue, Burke Avenue, 219, 225, 233 Streets, and Nereid Avenue in the Bronx. The Flatbush Avenue-bound 2 and 5 platforms at Winthrop Street and Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn are closed through July.

The 3 train won’t be running between Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue in Brooklyn on Saturday from 6 a.m. to midnight and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.—take a free shuttle bus instead.

4 trains run local in both directions between Grand Central-42 Street and Brooklyn Bridge in Manhattan. From 3:30 a.m. on Saturday to 10 p.m. on Sunday, 4 trains won’t be running between Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue in Brooklyn, but free shuttle buses await.

5 trains will be running local in both directions between Grand Central-42 Street and Brooklyn Bridge in Manhattan. The Eastchester-bound 5 platform at Gun Hill Road is temporarily closed. 5 trains will be running every 20 minutes this weekend.

There won’t be any 6 service between Parkchester and 3 Avenue-138 Street in the Bronx this weekend, hop on a free shuttle bus as an alternative.

From 3:45 a.m. on Saturday to 10 p.m. on Sunday Flushing-bound 7 trains skip 33, 40, 46, 52, 69, 74, 82, 90, 103 and 111 Streets in Queens.

There won’t be any A service between Rockaway Blvd and Far Rockaway in Queens, take a free shuttle bus instead.

World Trade Center-bound E trains skip 67 Avenue, 63 Drive, Woodhaven Blvd, Grand Avenue, and Elmhurst Avenue. Jamaica Center-bound trains E skip 36 Street, Steinway Street, 46 Street, Northern Blvd and 65 Street in Queens.

L trains run every 20 minutes between Rockaway Pkwy in Brooklyn and 8 Avenue in Manhattan. All L trains at 1 Avenue and 3 Avenue in Manhattan board from the Brooklyn-bound platform.

Norwood-bound D trains skip 170, 174-175, and 182-183 Streets in the Bronx. Coney Island-bound D trains skip Union Street, 4 Avenue-9 Street, Prospect Avenue and 25 Street in Brooklyn. he 62 Street/New Utrecht Avenue Station D, N transfer passageway is still closed for ongoing elevator repairs. D trains will run every 12 minutes this weekend.

M service is extended to the 96 Street Q station in Manhattan.

Uptown NQ, and R trains skip 49 Street in Manhattan. Coney Island-bound N platforms at Fort Hamilton Pkwy, New Utrecht, 18, and 20 Avenues are temporarily closed. The Astoria Blvd NW station is temporarily closed. From 3:45 a.m. on Saturday to 10 p.m. on Sunday, Coney Island-bound N trains skip 30 Avenue, Broadway, 36 Avenue and 39 Avenue in Queens. On weekend nights from 11:45 p.m. to 5 a.m., Coney Island-bound trains N skip Union Street, 4 Avenue-9 Street, Prospect Avenue and 25 Street in Brooklyn. N trains will run every 12 minutes this weekend.

96 Street-bound Q trains run express from Sheepshead Bay to Prospect Park and skip Kings Hwy and Church Avenue in Brooklyn.

Jamaica-bound R trains skip 36 Street, Steinway Street, 46 Street, Northern Blvd, and 65 Street in Queens. Bay Ridge-bound R trains skip Union Street, 4 Avenue-9 Street, Prospect Avenue and 25 Street in Brooklyn, in addition to 67 Avenue, 63 Drive, Woodhaven Blvd, Grand Avenue, and Elmhurst Avenue in Queens.

For J service between Crescent Street in Brooklyn and Jamaica Center in Queens, take the E train or a free shuttle bus.

Per the whims of the MTA, there will probably be other problems, and the problems stated above are subject to change and worsen.
