Market 57, New York City’s newest food hall, is set to open this spring at Pier 57 at 15th Street in Hudson River Park. Curated by the culinary nonprofit organization James Beard Foundation (JBF) in cooperation with developer Jamestown, the new waterfront dining destination announced its full vendor list this week. With support from Google, the new food hall hopes to be an incubator for emerging culinary and entrepreneurial talent that has traditionally been underrepresented in the culinary industry, with a focus on women- and BIPOC-owned dining destinations.

“The diverse roster of food entrepreneurs brought to Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation will surely be welcomed by park visitors who’ll be able to grab a bite while enjoying everything Hudson River Park has to offer including Pier 57 itself,” Noreen Doyle, president and CEO of Hudson River Park Trust, said. “The transformation of this historic pier into a world-class public space with an emphasis on sustainability is a win for park users, New Yorkers and the city as a whole.”
Market 57’s 15 vendor kiosks will include:

As 6sqft previously reported, in addition to the food hall, JBF will operate PLATFORM by JBF, a showcase kitchen and educational space that will feature rotating chefs-in-residence, dining experiences, culinary arts programming, and events.
As Market 57’s anchor tenant, James Beard Foundation will also operate Good To Go by JBF, a kiosk for fast-casual concepts from established operators who embody the organization’s mission and values.
“New York City is filled with a rich array of cultures, traditions, and culinary influences, and the vendors at Market 57 reflect that diversity,” Clare Reichenbach, James Beard Foundation CEO, said. “We’re excited to bring delicious food to the city’s West Side, while showcasing and supporting incredible talent aligned to our Good Food for Good mission.”
Market 57 and the community spaces on the ground floor are part of the $410 million redevelopment of Pier 57, in which Google is the anchor office tenant. RXR, Youngwoo & Associates and The Baupost Group are leading the overall development, including an events space, classroom and gallery space for the Hudson River Park Trust, two full-service restaurants, and a public rooftop park that opened last April.
City Winery opened a new flagship venue location in Pier 57 in 2020. Google is also creating a tech-oriented public classroom and gallery that will be operated by the Hudson River Park’s River Project team.
“We expanded our lease to include the ground floor because we believe we unlock Pier 57’s full potential when it’s not only a unique space for Googlers, but an exciting destination for all New Yorkers,” said Torrence Boone, Vice President of Global Client Partnerships and Site Leader for Google New York. “We’re thrilled to partner with Jamestown, the James Beard Foundation, and this diverse set of restaurateurs on the upcoming opening of Market 57.”
