Applications are now being accepted for 15 mixed-income units at a new residential development in Brooklyn. Located at 108 Downing Street in Clinton Hill, the 8-story building offers residents spacious units and a prime location in the heart of Brooklyn. New Yorkers earning 70, 80, and 120 percent of the area median income, or between $38,160 for a single person and $172,920 for a household of five people, can apply for the units, which range from $1,036/month studios to $2,883/month two bedrooms.
Developed by Big Apple Developers and designed by Aufgang Architects, the building contains a total of 50 residences with spacious, open-plan layouts. Apartments come equipped with high-end kitchen appliances, countertops and finishes, and washers and dryers. Select apartments have their own private terraces.
Plans for the new building were filed with the city in 2019. Once home to a row of two-story Italianate wood-frame storefront buildings during the 1940s, the lot has sat empty since the 1980s, according to Brownstoner.
Amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, bike storage lockers, package lockers, and a rooftop terrace.
Located on bustling Fulton Street, the building is near several restaurants, cafes, and public transit options, like the A, C, S, and G subway lines at the Clinton-Washington Avenues and Franklin Avenue stations, and the B25, B26, and B48 buses.
There are four market-rate rentals currently available at the building, priced between $3,950/month for a one-bedroom to $6,000/month for a two-bedroom, according to CityRealty.
Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the affordable units until January 30, 2023. Preference for 50 percent of the units will be given to residents of Brooklyn Community District 2. Complete details on how to apply are available here. Questions regarding this offer must be referred to NYC’s Housing Connect department by dialing 311.
If you don’t qualify for the housing lotteries mentioned, visit CityRealty.com’s no-fee rentals page for other apartment deals in the city.
