With construction officially underway at 130 William Street and sales launching for the 244 condos later this month, Sir David Adjaye hosted an event last night to reveal the interiors of his 800-foot Financial District tower. And they’re just as chic as expected, with finishes made from materials sourced from all over the world and hardware designed by the starchitect himself. Adjaye Associates collaborated with Hill West Architects on the project.
“In defining the design for 130 William, I not only sought to celebrate New York City’s heritage of masonry architecture, referencing the historical architecture once pervasive upon one of the city’s earliest streets,” Adjaye said. “However, and more importantly, 130 William has been crafted to focus on the new possibilities of urban, vertical living.”
Each of the residences, which range from studio to four-bedroom units, will feature oversized arch windows and wide-plank white oak flooring.
Adjaye custom-designed the hardware and fixtures, including faucets, showerheads, and door handles, with a burnished bronze finish throughout the apartments. The kitchens feature custom Pedini Italian millwork cabinetry, Gaggenau appliances and hand-selected Italian Pietra Cardosa stone countertops. Plus, every kitchen will feature marble cantilevers for added bar seating.
The penthouse and loggia residences will be found on the top ten residential floors of 130 William. The interiors of those top units boast high ceilings and outdoor terraces that run the length of residences.
Amenities at 130 William will measure over 20,000 square feet, including a health club and spa, an infinity-edge swimming pool, cold and hot plunge pools and a fitness center with a terrace and yoga studio.
Residents will also have access to a private IMAX movie theater, golf simulator, chef’s catering kitchen, outdoor terraces, and a private rooftop observatory deck at the top of the nearly 800-foot tall building.
As 6sqft learned earlier this month, starting prices for the units were released by real estate developer Lightstone. Studios will start at roughly $650,000, one-bedrooms at $1.1 million, two-bedrooms at $1.85 million, three-bedrooms at $2.6 million and four-bedrooms at $5.42 million.
