Silicon Valley will soon land in Williamsburg, according to the masterminds behind 25 Kent, an office building designed with the tech community in mind. The eight-story building at 25 Kent Avenue, the first ground-up commercial office development in the area in over four decades, has officially topped out. The building offers 500,000 square feet of office space along the Williamsburg waterfront, retail at ground level and underground parking, according to CityRealty. Designed by Gensler with concept designs by Hollwich Kushner (HWKN), 25 Kent will surely attract young professionals, with its millennial-friendly rooftops, terraces and floor-to-ceiling windows.

To complement the neighborhood’s industrial past, 25 Kent will boast a facade of red brick masonry with blackened steel. The building has a flexible floor plan structure, allowing companies to decide which setup would work best.

According to HWKN, the campus features large floor plates to attract established tech-companies like Google and Amazon, while the lower floors’ smaller layouts will serve startups and creative businesses “that already love the Williamsburg waterfront.”

Windows on all sides and terraces on each floor will provide both stunning 360 degree views of Manhattan’s skyline and neighboring Bushwick Inlet Park, as well as plenty of natural light. Employees will enjoy amenities like underground parking, bike storage, showers, lockers and over 40,000 square feet of ground level shops and cafes.

Developers Heritage Equity Partners and Rubenstein Partners expect construction of 25 Kent to wrap up this year, with occupancy following.
