A newly constructed, 14-unit rental in Greenpoint has launched a lottery for three affordable one-bedroom apartments. The ground-up building is located at 977 Manhattan Avenue, between India and Huron Streets, and is an investment property, with the entire building listed for $14.25 million. Qualifying New Yorkers earning 60 percent of the area median income can apply for the $1,020/month one-bedroom apartments.

The five-story building, designed by Caliendo Architects, includes 2,232 square feet of commercial space and just over 14,000 square feet of residential space, providing a spacious layout for the one-bedrooms. And 977 Manhattan Avenue is Green Certified, featuring energy-efficient elements, like solar panels.
Amenities include a bike room, central air, in-ceiling speakers, and outdoor space for some of the units. The G-train at Greenpoint Avenue is less than a five-minute walk away.
Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the affordable units at 977 Manhattan Avenue until April 26, 2018. Fifty percent of units will be set aside for residents of Brooklyn Community Board 1.
