A pop-up ‘beach’ returns to the Seaport this month

New Yorkers don’t have to travel far this summer to bury their feet in the sand and bask in the sun. The Seaport Beach Fest is back for 2023, with oversized sandboxes for lounging, food trucks, live performances, and DJ sets. The event takes place at Seaport Square, located at 89 South Street between Piers 16 & 17, from Friday, July 28 through Sunday, July 30.
On Day 1, festivities will kick off with live DJ sets curated by Maachew Bentley, following headlining performances by DJ MOMA and Walshy Fire as they spin a variety of tunes, including hip-hop, soul, R&B, afrobeats, underground dance grooves, and classic dancefloor jams.
The event’s scheduling begins at 2 p.m. as Jubilee & Friends take the stage, followed by Stonie Blue from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Odalys from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Silent Addy from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Quiana Parks from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
The event’s first headliner, Walshy Fire, will perform from 7:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., followed by DJ MOMA from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. to close out the night.
Day 2 begins with a yoga session from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. led by instructors from Lyons Den. Classes are free but reservations are recommended, as classes fill up quickly. The sessions are hosted on the Heineken Riverdeck at Pier 17, located at 89 South Street.
From 2 p.m. through 10 p.m., the Seaport will be filled with the sounds of music curated by Deep Root Records, featuring Mia Moretti, Bina, and Jackal Jyve, as well as headliners James Patterson, Marshall Jefferson, and Sandy Rivera. James Patterson will perform from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by Marshall Jefferson from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and finally, Sandy Rivera from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. to cap off the night.
Beach Fest Day 3 opens with a variety of opening bands who will take the stage from 1 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Pallas will perform from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., followed by Warphole from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., Mod Rock from 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., Katzin from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., and Tatters & Rags from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
Renowned country artists Dalton & The Sheriffs and Wilson Springs Hotel will headline the third day, with Dalton & The Sheriffs performing from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Wilson Springs Hotel from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
