The Barclays Center will undergo several upgrades enhancing the fan experience. BSE Global, parent company of the arena, the Brooklyn Nets, and the New York Liberty, announced last week that the second phase of a five-year, $100 million renovation will add a membership club and a fan zone with unobstructed views and a bar. The work will begin at the end of the Nets’ current season and be completed ahead of the start of the 2025-2026 NBA season.

Gallagher Terrace

“We are thrilled to enter phase two of our five-year arena renovation plan at Barclays Center, a significant leap forward in enhancing the overall guest experience for all ticket holders,” Shanon Ferguson, Chief Hospitality Officer at BSE Global, said.

“We are committed to continuously setting new standards in hospitality for our guests, creating more immersive, comfortable, and elevated experiences for all and ensuring every visit to Barclays Center is unforgettable, regardless of seat location.”

Designed by Populous, the firm behind the Sphere in Las Vegas and the New York Liberty’s new practice facility in Greenpoint, the project includes Gallagher Terrace, a 5,300-square-foot exclusive club fit for 110 guests. Intended to capture the “ambience of Brooklyn’s Gilded Age,” according to a press release, the space will feature banquette seating and lush decor.

Gallagher Terrace will be the only place in the arena to offer in-seat dining with waiter service; members will also have access to a private entrance and a full-service private bar with wine selected by a team of sommeliers.

The Bridge

The west end of the upper concourse will be transformed into The Bridge, a two-level space open to all guests. Measuring about 6,800 square feet, the concourse features an oversized, raised platform shaped like a bridge where guests can watch the action below and order drinks and snacks from a 63-foot-long bar, which will be the biggest in the arena.

Windows will be installed behind and surrounding the bar to provide views of Downtown Brooklyn. The Bridge also includes two new retail spaces with Nets and Liberty merchandise.

Shawmut Design and Construction is leading the construction of the project.

The Garden Bar

The first phase of the renovation included two new private membership clubs, The Toki Row and JetBlue at The Key. Other projects include improvements to The Garden Bar on the arena’s main concourse and the renovation of dressing rooms led by The Brooklyn Home Company.

The next phase of work follows BSE Global’s announcement to build a state-of-the-art practice facility in Greenpoint for the New York Liberty. The $80 million project, also designed by Populous, will feature private suites for players, two full practice courts, an indoor-outdoor strength training room, a spa, in-house salons, a roof deck dining area, and more.
