Bryant Park has once again transformed into a winter wonderland. The Bank of America Winter Village opened for the season on Friday, offering New Yorkers the only free admission ice skating rink in the city, an open-air holiday market, and cocktails rinkside. The village, now in its 20th year, will be open daily from October 29 through March 6, 2022.
Due to Covid-19, last year’s event included mandatory face coverings, rink reservations, and a new more distanced layout of the holiday shops. This year, masks are only encouraged and the park will continue to clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces and shared rental equipment.
The 17,000-square-foot rink is open rain or shine on Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Sunday (and holidays) from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Skate rentals start at $15. Book a time slot for skating and pay for rentals in advance here.
The Lodge Deck will also open, providing an “après skate-escape” with seasonal cocktails and food and a place to admire the holiday tree.
The European-inspired holiday market from Urbanspace will run from October 29 through January 2 and feature more than 170 new and returning vendors. Four New York City-based minority-owned small businesses will be highlighted last part of “Small Business Spotlight” by Bank of America. More details on the vendors will be released in the coming days.
