A new dine-in movie theater is opening inside a luxury residential building in Midtown next month. Located within the Bjarke Ingels-designed and Durst Organization-developed VIA 57 WEST, Look Dine-In Cinema’s new flagship location offers a premium movie experience with large screens, state-of-the-art sound systems, luxury seating, and extensive food and beverage options. The theater opens on Thursday, May 4.

The Midtown West theater will have eight screens with a seating capacity ranging from 20 to 147 seats. Movie options include small independent films, first-run movie premiers, as well as corporate and VIP events.
The new theater replaces Landmark Cinema, which operated on the lower levels of the triangle-shaped tower from 2017 to 2020 before closing in 2021 because of the pandemic, as I Love the Upper West Side reported.

Using a mobile app, theater guests can order from chef-inspired menus and craft beverages to be brought straight to their seats. Guests can also call a server for a more traditional dining experience.
Look’s VIA 57 West location will also include Mirabella’s Lounge, a restaurant offering Mexican-inspired small plates and specialty cocktails for visitors to enjoy before or after seeing their movie. Locals are also invited to stop in for a bite to eat or a drink during happy hour.
“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Durst Organization as we open our flagship location at 57 WEST in New York City. Our new cinema is not just a place to watch movies, but a hub for the community, offering a luxurious dine-in experience, a neighborhood bar/lounge for socializing, and diverse content that supports the entertainment industry,” Brian Schultz, CEO of Look Dine-In Cinemas.
Schultz continued: “As a Conscious Capitalist company, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment that celebrates all types of content that opens perspective, including blockbusters like Guardians of the Galaxy, independent titles, and special events.”
Tickets are now on sale here for screenings of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as well as for other films and special events.
