Despite continued work in the Rockaways, E and F train riders share the pity prize for most debilitating service changes this weekend. The E will be masquerading as both the F and R, in parts, and skipping a huge portion of its usual stops, including express stations, while the F will be masquerading as the E (naturally) as well as the A, in parts. This weekend’s work also holds particularly unpleasant change-ups for N and R straphangers.

1 trains run approximately every 16 minutes between 137 Street and 242 Street – transfer at 137 Street for trains headed toward Van Cortlandt Park.

No 2 trains between 135 St and E 180 St – free shuttle buses provide alternate service. Weekdays through August 31, 2 and 5 trains run at reduced speed in the area of 149 St-Grand Concourse due to “track maintenance”.

New Lots Av-bound 4 trains skip 33 St and 23 St. Crown Hts-bound 4 trains run express from Woodlawn to Burnside Av – no Crown Hts-bound service at Mosholu Pkwy, Bedford Park Blvd, Kingsbridge, Fordham Rds and 183 St.

5 trains run approximately every 20 minutes between Bowling Green and 149 St-Grand concourse. Bronx-bound 5 trains skip 138 St-Grand Concourse. No 5 trains between 149 St-Grand Concourse and E 180 St – free shuttle buses provide alternate service.

Brooklyn Bridge-bound 6 trains skip 33 St and 23 St.

Manhattan-bound 7 trains skip 69, 52, 46, 40 and 33 Sts.

Downtown A trains skip 50 St, 23 St, Spring St, 155 St and 135 St.

Euclid Av-bound C trains skip 50 St, 23 St, Spring St, 155 St and 135 St.

E trains run via the F in both directions between 21 St-Queensbridge and Lexington Av/63 St, and via the R between 57 St-7 Av and Whitehall St. No E service at Queens Plaza, Court Sq-23 St, Lexington Av/53 St, 5 Av/53 St, 7 Av, 50 St, 42 St/Port Authority, 34 St-Penn Station, 23, 14, W 4, Spring, Canal Sts and world Trade Center. Jamaica Center-bound E trains skip 75 Av and Briarwood and run express from the 21 St-Queensbridge F station to 71 Av, stopping at Roosevelt Av.

Norwood-bound D trains skip 170 St, 174-175 Sts and 182-183 Sts.

Coney Island-bound F trains run via the E from Roosevelt Av to 50 St, then via the A to Jay St-MetroTech. Jamaica-bound F trains run via the E after 47-50 Sts to Roosevelt Av. Jamaica-bound F trains skip 75 Av, Briarwood and Sutphin Blvd. Queens-bound F and G trains skip Fort Hamilton Pkwy, 15 St-Prospect Park and 4 Av-9 St.

N trains run via the D in both directions between 36 St and Stillwell Av – free shuttle buses provide alternate service between 59 St and Stillwell Av. Until July 2019, N trains are making local stops in Brooklyn at 53 St and 45 St in both directions. No N trains between Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza – free shuttle buses provide alternate service.

Coney Island-bound Q trains skip Avenue U and Neck Rd.

No late night R service between Whitehall St and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, and late night R trains skip Union St, 4 Av-9 St, Prospect Av and 25 St in both directions. Forest Hills-bound R trains run express from Queens Plaza to 71 Av, stopping at Roosevelt Av.

From August 4 to 10, no J trains between Crescent St and Jamaica Center – free shuttle buses provide alternate service.

Per the whims of the MTA, there will probably be other problems, and the problems stated above are subject to change and worsen.

Get Inspired by NYC.
