The Meatpacking District’s charming cobblestone streets have been transformed into an enchanting holiday forest. Back for another festive season, “Lights on the Cobbles” illuminates Ninth Avenue with large-scale installations, including dazzling holiday lights, a reflective illuminated pathway through Gansevoort Plaza, larger-than-life snow people, and more. The captivating holiday decor is on display through January 15.

For the first time this year, Gansevoort Plaza has transformed into “Gansevoort Forest,” featuring over 100 deciduous and evergreen trees, some reaching up to 25 feet tall, creating a lush woodland paradise for both locals and tourists to enjoy.

The installation features Eastern White Pines, Norway Spruces, Red Maples, River Birches, Hemlocks, and Red Dogwoods, all sustainably sourced from local nurseries. After the holidays, the trees will be replanted in natural landscapes.

To complement the forest, the Meatpacking BID has worked with Theresa Rivera Designs to light up its cobblestone streets with holiday lights, beloved snow people, and a captivating reflective pathway through Gansevoort Plaza.

The Standard, High Line is also joining in the holiday cheer with “Hedge & Hearth: A Winter Maze.” This immersive public art installation features stilt walkers, interactive lighting, and a winding boxwood pathway that leads through the hotel’s plaza.

Other festive art experiences can be found just around the corner at ARTECHOUSE and Genesis House. ARTECHOUSE is currently hosting “Tingle Bells,” a one-of-a-kind holiday ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) experience designed to soothe your senses and warm your spirit. Meanwhile, Genesis House presents “STARSCAPE,” an immersive light installation created in collaboration with artist Ethan Tobman.”
