Fōz Design’s Mid-Century Modern Home Boasts Rustic Charm in the Hudson Valley
This beautiful home situated on the banks of the Hudson River in Saugerties, New York is a perfect example of how elegant rustic can be. The home comes from Fōz Design, a multi-disciplinary architecture and design studio in New York City, as a weekend family escape and a modern interpretation of the traditional woodsy cabin.
The home pays homage to mid-century modern architecture and is constructed with locally quarried stone and natural wood.
Twenty-foot-high ceilings and expansive windows bring tons of natural light into the open floor plan, bringing the outdoors in.
The master suite is located on the third floor and includes both a home office and a private deck that gives the feeling of being in a tree house. The additional four bedrooms are located in the guest wing that can be accessed through a glassed-in hallway.
The cantilevered decks offer impressive views of the river and surrounding landscapes.
Landscape architecture by Julia Storek Oberhoff compliments the main building, enhancing the home with additional outdoor amenities like an infinity pool.
