In May 2012, TF Cornerstone (TFC) entered a 99-year ground lease for the building’s site that spans nearly a full city block and measures 63,000 square feet. Now topped out and fully skinned, the massive rental at 606 West 57th Street has a less flashy appearance than renderings previously hinted, but still features an impressively imposing, boxy design, as CityRealty reported. Designed by Arquitectonica, the 42-story, 1.2 million-square-foot building will contain a whopping 1,028 apartments. It joins other West Side gems like the Helena and the pyramid-shaped, Bjarke Ingels-designed Via57 West.
Undoubtedly, 606 West 57th Street adds to the block’s recent growth in exciting, expensive high-rises. Upon completion, the sprawling tower will become the second largest apartment building with 1,000+ units, following Moinian’s SKY building, which holds 1,115 apartments.

Winick will handle the leasing of the building’s 26,253 square feet of ground-floor retail space. New renderings recently released by the company show that a single tenant might claim the entire space, or it could possibly be divvied up by four smaller tenants.
Filed paperwork lists planned amenities like a 400-car parking garage, bike parking, a rooftop theater and party spaces. Plus, there will be a clubhouse, pet spa and indoor basketball court. The building is expected to be completed in 2018.
