Many Memorial Day weekend subway service changes will continue into the week

This week was a big one for the MTA, with NYC Transit President Andy Byford releasing the Fast Forward plan, with 10 years worth of road map for necessary modernizations to be made to the subway system, as well as an announcement that subway service will possibly be increased during off-peak, weekday hours beginning in November along the A, D, E and F lines. Much more immediately, many of this weekend’s subway service changes will extend into Monday and early Tuesday due to Memorial Day and the long weekend.

Thanks to Memorial Day the MTA will be continuing much of its weekend track work into the Monday holiday.

Van Cortlandt Park-bound 1 trains skip 103, 110, 116 and 125 Sts.

2 trains replace weekend 5 service between Dyre Av and E 180 St. 2 and 5 trains run express from E 180 St to 3 Av-149 St in the Bronx. No weekend 2 or 3 service between Manhattan and Brooklyn. All of these service changes will continue into Monday, Memorial Day.

No 4 trains between Utica Av and New Lots Av – free shuttle buses provide alternate service.

5 trains replace weekend 2 service between Wakefield-241 St and E 180 St.

Ozone Park/Far Rockaway-bound A trains skip 116, 103, 96, 86 and 81 Sts through 5am Tuesday. No A trains between 168 St and 207 St – free shuttle buses provide alternate service.

Uptown C trains skip 135 St – A trains make the local stop. C trains skip 135, 116, 103, 96, 86 and 81 Sts, and there are no C trains between 145 St and 168 St – A trains make local stops between 135 St and 155 St.

Word Trade Center-bound E trains skip Briarwood, 75 Av, 67 Av, 63 Dr, Woodhaven Blvd, Grand Av and Elmhurst Av.

D service is rerouted between 59 St-Columbus Circle and Stillwell Av through Tuesday – free shuttle buses provide alternate service.

Coney Island-bound F trains skip Union St, 4 Av-9 St, Prospect Av and 25 St. F service is rerouted in Manhattan and Brooklyn – free shuttle buses provide alternate service. Coney Island-bound F trains skip Sutphin Blvd, Briarwood and 75 Av.

Weekend M service operates between Middle Village-Metropolitan Av and Delancey St/Essex St – late night service operates between Middle Village-Metropolitan Av and Delancey St/Essex St.

Coney Island-bound N trains run express from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to 59 St in Brooklyn – trains stop at 36 St. N trains run via the R in both directions between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, Brooklyn and Canal St. No N trains between Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza – free shuttle buses provide alternate service.

Bay Ridge-bound R trains run express from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to 59 St in Brooklyn, stopping at 36 St. R service operates to/from the 179 St F station between 95 St and 71 Av and via the F to/from 179 St, skipping Sutphin Blvd, Briarwood and 75 Av. Through Monday, Bay Ridge-bound R trains skip 67 Av, 63 Dr, Woodhaven Blvd, Grand Av and Elmhurst Av.

Per the whims of the MTA, there will probably be other problems, and the problems stated above are subject to change and worsen.
