Members-only rooftop pool to open at the American Copper Buildings, with fees starting at $1,600
Just in time for summer, a members-only pool is opening atop one of Manhattan’s most recognizable buildings. Starting Memorial Day Weekend, the Sentry Club at the American Copper Buildings in Murray Hill will offer guests a private rooftop with poolside cabana service, event space for parties, and classes focused on wellness. But it will cost you: memberships start at $1,600 for the entire summer and go up to $3,200 for the season. The pool will be open starting Thursday, May 23 through Labor Day.
In addition to pool access, membership also allows you to participate in classes that will include morning yoga, pool meditations, and guided astronomy sessions. According to Sentry’s website, the concept is “designed to elevate the experience to align with unbelievable views and the unprecedented luxury of the building itself.”
The club will offer a day and night menu, created by Parched Hospitality Group’s Brent Hudson. More on the food and drink offerings, which will combine a mix of Aussie and Asian cuisines, will be released at a later date.
Membership tiers include: “Silver” for $1,600 which provides six guest passes, “Gold” for $3,000 which offers unlimited guest passes, and “Copper” at $3,200 for unlimited guest passes and pre-purchase ability to ticketed events at a 20 percent discount. Minors accompanied by adults get in for $500. There are no single passes available.
Unfortunately, membership to the Sentry will not provide you with access to the SHoP Architects-designed Copper Buildings’Â three-story sky bridge that links the two towers. Suspended 300 feet in the air, the bridge includes a 75-foot indoor lap pool and hot tub, fitness center, and lounge.
