At 6pm on Saturday evening, the New York State Department of Health went live with a new in-depth COVID-19 tracker. The interactive portal shows state-wide data broken down by county and will be updated twice daily. It includes a map view, table view, daily totals charts, and fatality data broken down by both county and age group.

Despite the continued climb to the apex and pressure on the hospital system, Governor Cuomo did announce several positive items in his press conference this morning:

  • Through the Joseph and Clara Tsai Foundation, and facilitated by the Chinese Government, 1,000 ventilators were set to arrive from China at JFK Airport today.
  • Another 140 ventilators were also provided by Oregon Governor Kate Brown.
  • The Joseph and Clara Tsai Foundation and the Jack Ma Foundation also donated 1 million surgical masks, 1 million KN95 masks, and more than 100,000 pairs of goggles.
  • The NBA, in collaboration with the Nets and the Nicks, is contributing 1 million surgical masks.

As of Saturday evening, 283,621 people in the state had tested positive for coronavirus. Of this total, 20,114 were in Queens; 17,504 in Brooklyn, 12,315 in the Bronx, and 9,300 in Manhattan. The state has seen a total of 3,565 fatalities. Of this total, 2,624 have been across NYC.
