Pumpkin picking and fall festivities return to Governors Island

Governors Island is welcoming back visitors for its annual Pumpkin Point fall festival. Hosted in Nolan Park, guests are invited to come and pick their pumpkins for free with a suggested donation. The event also includes a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, pumpkin painting, and more. Pumpkin Point will take place on the weekends of October 22- 23 and October 29- 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Fall is the perÂfect time to come explore GovÂerÂnors Island – from beauÂtiÂful fall foliage to a free pumpÂkin patch to excitÂing proÂgramÂming, there is someÂthing for everyÂone,” Clare Newman, presÂiÂdent and CEO of the Trust for GovÂerÂnors Island, said. ​”We invite all New YorkÂers to hop on the ferÂry and take in the changÂing seasons!”

The Island’s food vendors, including Threes Brewing, will offer fall-themed food and drink on both weekends of the event.
Pumpkins left over from the event will be donated to New York City organizations fighting food insecurity or will be composted on Governors Island. Pumpkin Point is co-presented by the Trust for Governors Island and the Friends of Governors Island.
