Rebel Wilson is latest celeb to buy at Tribeca’s 443 Greenwich Street
Tribeca‘s 443 Greenwich Street claims to be “paparazzi-proof” thanks to its underground garage and interior courtyard, but there must be something more than those not-so-rare amenities that’s drawing a celebrity roster like we’ve never seen. The latest big name to buy in the building is Rebel Wilson; WWD reports that the Australian actress, of “How to be Single” and “Pitch Perfect” fame, dropped $2.95 million on a two-bedroom condo, joining the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal, Meg Ryan, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, Jennifer Lawrence, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, and Harry Styles.
The 1,343-square-foot apartment is on the ground floor and sold for 26 percent below its original asking price of $3,995,000. Homes in the former warehouse building boast marble finishes and stainless steel details, reclaimed wooden beams and columns, oak parquet floors, and acid-etched glass.
In addition to the aforementioned privacy-focused amenities, the building offers a 24-hour doorman, valet, children’s playroom, 71-foot indoor swimming pool, 5,000-square-foot landscaped roof terrace, wine cellar, and a fitness center with a Turkish steam bath.
Wilson bought the home under the LLC “The Blue Bay Trust,” which she also used to buy her two properties in L.A.–a four-bedroom Hollywood Hills home that she paid $2.2 million for in 2014 and a new construction five-bedroom in West Hollywood that she got last year for just under $3 million. She recently said of deciding to buy in the big apple: “I just love New York and since I’m filming a movie here this summer I thought I may as well buy a place.”
