Rockefeller Center transformed into Parisian ‘Viewing Village’ for the Olympics

Rockefeller Center has turned into a hub for Team USA during the 2024 Olympics. NBCUniversal transformed The Rink into an “Olympics Viewing Village,” with a Paris-themed patio, French food, watch parties, photo-ops with an Eiffel Tower replica and medal podium, and special appearances by athletes. The interactive experience, which also includes a Parisian-inspired bar sponsored by Michelob ULTRA, is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. until the closing ceremony on August 11.
Team USA fans can root for their favorite Olympic athletes, attend Paris-themed watch parties at the Rink for major events like the opening and closing ceremonies, and take pictures in front of a replica of the Eiffel Tower, the Olympic medal podium, and more.
Fans will also be able to snap a picture in front of giant Olympic rings at Center Plaza, which arrived in Manhattan after traveling the country and stopping at several major events, including the PLAYERS Championship, the Kentucky Derby, and the Indianapolis 500.
“Transforming iconic Rockefeller Center into our U.S. home for the Paris Olympics gives Team USA fans a chance to interact with our coverage of the Games even though the Games are taking place thousands of miles away,” Lyndsay Signor, senior vice president of Consumer Engagement at NBC Sports, said.
“The interactive events, photo-ops, and athlete visits will give Team USA fans an immersive Parisian experience and the ability to cheer on the world’s best athletes at one of the most recognizable locations in New York.”
Rockefeller Center’s Olympic takeover will also feature special appearances by Team USA athletes as they return to the U.S. after competing; interactive exhibits will give fans the chance to meet select athletes at Top of the Rock and The Rink.
NBCUniversal and Michelob ULTRA, the official beer sponsor of Team USA, teamed up to transform a section of The Rink into a Parisan-themed patio and bar. The area includes multiple viewing screens and an area for table games.
