Rudy Giuliani has relisted his Upper East Side penthouse with a $1.4 million price cut after settling his legal battle with two Georgia election workers. In October, a judge ordered the former New York City mayor to turn over his possessions, including his apartment at 45 East 66th Street, as part of a $148 million defamation lawsuit he lost in 2023. Last month, a settlement was reached allowing Giuliani to keep his apartment and other belongings in exchange for an unspecified compensation for the two election workers. Now the disbarred lawyer and former Trump advisor is trying again to offload the three-bedroom home for $5.175 million; he first listed the property for $6.5 million in 2023.

After the 2020 election, while serving as a lawyer for President Donald Trump, Giuliani falsely accused ballot counters Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss of tampering with ballots to steal the election, leading to violent and racist threats against the two women. The pair sued Giuliani and won $148 million in a verdict in 2023.
Last August, Freeman and Moss requested that a federal judge also give them control of many of Giuliani’s assets as part of the $148 million payout, which included the Manhattan penthouse as well as his property in Palm Beach, Florida, according to Realtor.com.
In October, a judge agreed with their request, ordering Giuliani to turn over the apartment, a Mercedes-Benz, several watches, a signed Joe DiMaggio jersey, and more. The women were also entitled to $2 million in legal fees Giuliani owed the Trump campaign, which were ordered to be transferred to a receivership controlled by Freeman and Moss.
In January, a judge ruled Giuliani had “fully satisfied” his settlement agreement, allowing him to retain ownership of the home, according to the New York Times.
In a statement posted on X, Giuliani said the resolution of the litigation does “not involve an admission of liability or wrongdoing.”
“I am satisfied with and have no grievances relating to the result we have reached. I have been able to retain my New York coop and Florida Condominium and all of my personal belongings. No one deserves to be subjected to threats, harassment, or intimidation,” he said. “This litigation has taken its toll on all parties. This whole episode was unfortunate. I and the Plaintiffs have agreed not to ever talk about each other in any defamatory manner, and I urge others to do the same.”
Giuliani first listed the three-bedroom, three-bathroom penthouse in the landmarked Fred Leighton Building in July 2023 for $6.5 million.
After a short period off the market, the residence was relisted in May for $5.7 million and then finally for $5.175 million in late September before being delisted again in early October, according to CityRealty.
The former mayor bought the pre-war co-op for $4.77 million more than 20 years ago with his ex-wife Judith. The penthouse has a wood-paneled library, a wood-burning fireplace, and a glass conservatory, according to the Post.
Designed by architects Harde & Short in 1906 and designated a landmark in 1977, the Gothic-inspired terra cotta and brick Fred Leighton Building is one of the Upper East Side’s most esteemed addresses, just off Madison Avenue and a block from Central Park.
